Testimonial for Ross Hirst

Ross Hirst acted as my Solicitor in a de facto property claim against me.
On the 4th September 2004 I was contacted by a commercial agent wanting to serve papers on me logged with the Supreme Court of Queensland. This was the start of a drawn out legal process and emotional journey.
This testimonial is to convey to others in potentially similar circumstances my complete faith in, and respect for Ross Hirst given the way he helped me.
At the early stages when I finally received the papers I hoped the matter would be short and sweet. I was hoping it would just go away. It didn’t go away. It continued with all legal manoeuvrings for two years leading to a 4 day court case. The Courts judgement dismissed the matter and subsequently costs were awarded to me.
Initially I was feeling very vulnerable over the legal profession generally, and disbelief at how an irrational claim was gaining momentum. After a few months of preparing detailed bank statements, financial statements and personal statements I fell into a state of depression albeit relatively mild. I felt out of control and I hated this feeling.
Throughout the case without exception everything Ross said came true. Everything he said would happen happened right from day one. He was amazing.
Ross continuously told me what was happening legally, what was going to happen, had a strategy, stuck to it and was correct in every detail. In addition Ross sorted me out when I lost it and tolerated my many failings.
In hindsight I can now see the many advantages flowing from what I have been through, I am much stronger and I know for the rest of my life I can pick up the phone and talk to Ross. That is very important to me.
When Ross asked me to write a few lines by way of a testimonial he mentioned he would not add my last name. On the contrary I am happy to have him use my last name and contact details incase someone would like to speak with me.
In conclusion I cannot speak too highly of Ross, without him I hate to think what could have happened.
